Songs of the Mt. St. Helens Disaster

At exactly 8:32 a.m., 30 years ago today, May 18, a massive natural explosion took place. The force of the Mount St. Helens eruption was said to be the equivalent of 27 thousand atom bombs.
It was hard for people to fathom. Maybe that's why some turned to song.
KPLU's Paula Wissel has been listening to some of the ballads composed in the wake of the eruption and has this story.
