More than a hundred soldiers have returned to Calumet from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. Members of the 1431st Engineer Sapper Company landed at the Houghton County Airport Tuesday morning. They were taken by bus via police escort to Calumet High School, where their family and friends gathered to greet them. Officials with the local Red Cross chapter say they'll help the soldiers with their transition back into civilian life.
