Mallahan Optimistic
In a crowded room in the Edgewater Hotel, Mallahan walked to the podium and smiled broadly, looking very much a winner even though he was trailing his opponent by about 1000 votes.
He told his supporters he believes the phone calls volunteers made to undecided voters in the final days of the campaign will pay off once all the ballots are counted.
