The announcement of a tunnel to replace Seattle's Alaskan Way Viaduct generated a lot of excitement among the many state, county, city and port officials who were on hand. But supporters of a new elevated highway or a surface transit approach - the two options chosen as finalists just a few weeks ago - were not as pleased.
