(KPLU) - More than two thousand employees of Washington Mutual Bank are receiving their official layoff notices this morning. (Monday 12-1-08.)
Most of the job cuts are at corporate headquarters in downtown Seattle. The CEO of WaMu's new owner, JP Morgan Chase, is addressing a select group of employees later this morning behind closed doors. They work in WaMu's retail branches.
But no one from the company wants to talk with the media right now.
