Enjoy "Jazz Under The Stars" this summer as some of the Northwest's best talents perform live at Pacific Lutheran University. Complimentary star gazing charts will be handed out.

The Jazz Sound Trio is comprised of PLU's jazz faculty members David Deacon-Joyner on piano, Clipper Anderson on bass, and Mark Ivester on drums. The trio is delighted to be backing Scott Whitfield, one of the world's greatest jazz trombonists, and his wife Ginger for a delightful evening of jazz. Destined to become a team long before they ever met, Ginger Berglund & Scott Whitfield have both been a part of the legacy of great vocal groups. Scott spent 10 years with the Pied Pipers, and Ginger recently became the newest addition to the legendary Modernaires. Ginger & Scott are featured with the Stan Kenton Alumni Band and the Scott Whitfield Jazz Orchestra West, in addition to their own extensive touring. Together, Ginger & Scott's silky vocal blend, an innate sense of swing, and a reverence for the jazz tradition, evoke memories of great artistic duos such as Jackie Cain and Roy Kral, Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, and Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Free admission. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and picnic while enjoying the entertainment. In the event of rain, the performance will be held in the Karen Hille Phillips Concert Hall on the PLU campus.
