Enjoy "Jazz Under The Stars" this summer as some of the Northwest's best talents perform live at Pacific Lutheran University. Complimentary star gazing charts will be handed out.
Big Band Swingin' Sounds of Courage is one of the larger ensembles in the 56th Army Band. This group is a full big band with 20 members. The band performs swing hits from the Big Band Era, including selections from some of the greats like Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald. These standards mixed with a collection of newer big band charts create a diverse repertoire for the audience's pleasure. This group performs all over the Northwest during the Spring and Summer months for audiences of all ages. Whether you are 6 or 60, you are guaranteed to have a great time listening and watching this wonderful band perform. Free admission. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and picnic while enjoying the entertainment. In the event of rain, the performance will be held in the Karen Hille Phillips Concert Hall on the PLU campus. STUFF THE BUS CAMPAIGN
PLU is looking forward to another great year for ‘Stuff the Bus’ school supply drive through The Tacoma Communities in School...We can only do it with your help. This year the goal is to help 4000 students. Please bring items from the list below and drop off on your way in to the Rainers Game. There will be a box right by the entrance.
How can you help you ask? Here are some ideas of basic school supplies that you can purchase : Backpacks, School Boxes, Pink Erasers, Glue sticks, Spiral Notebooks, Notebook Dividers, Crayons, Markers, Scissors, Rules, Binders, Folders, Peechees, Calculators, and Mechanical Pencils.
You can also help by purchasing some non-school items such as: Shoes, Coats, Clothing, Kleenex, Hand Sanitizer, and Band-aids
