Out on a Limb Boutique Grand Opening
New locally owned boutique opening in Plaza District
Out on Limb Boutique is a handmade and upcycled boutique located in the Plaza District in Oklahoma City. The boutique’s grand opening will be during the LIVE on the Plaza event on August 8th, 2014 from 7-11pm. A local photobooth, Cheesebox, will be in store to capture customer’s photos as they try on the one-of-a-kind items.
Out on a Limb has been a brand since 2009, selling its handmade items at other locations, and is now opening its own storefront in order to further serve the local community. The new boutique will focus on handmade and upcycled women’s clothing and accessories, with home décor, men’s accessories and a children’s section to be added in its first few months of operation.
Much of the clothing in the boutique is referred to as upcycled (also known as repurposed or reconstructed). This process includes finding vintage pieces and changing them in order to create a more modern item while keeping the uniqueness of each piece. Other items in the store include handmade clothing, jewelry and other accessories. In addition, the owner and seamstress, Cassie Neahring, is available for alterations and fittings on items purchased in store. “I’m so excited to be a part of the Plaza District and to share my clothing with Oklahoma City! Finding items that may otherwise never be worn, and turning them into something beautiful, is what I enjoy most. I also love the smiles on the faces of my customers who have found a piece that speaks directly to them.”
