"Keeping Score" on PBS redefines "music appreciation" as we know it
Michael Tilson Thomas
Finding the "Rosebud" moments in Berlioz, Ives and Shostakovich Music Appreciation and Music Education are difficult acts to pull off -- either singularly or together. But the PBS Series, "Keeping Score" does both. "Keeping Score," now in its second season, is under the thoughtful vision and voice of Michael Tilson Thomas (aka MTT) and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

In three shows this season, "Keeping Score" focuses on three pivotal works by composers who built on familiar musical traditions and created new compositional models and new means for personal expression.
