Let's tackle the big questions that modern cosmology and astrophysics raise. Join the Prescott Astronomy Club for talks on hot topics in astronomy and space science at 6:30 p.m. in the Founders Suite.
Astronomy Beyond Light with Brennan Hughey, Assistant Professor of Physics, ERAU Throughout history, astronomy has primarily been the act of seeing the cosmos through visible light. But what if we could reach out with other senses as well? Around the world, efforts are currently underway to learn about the universe through cosmic messengers other than the photon. There will be a discussion of some of these experiments, including a massive detector buried in ice at the South Pole tracking ghostly particles called neutrinos, and a worldwide network of observatories trying to "hear" the universe by listening for ripples in space itself.
