The Delano Chamber Orchestra is proud to announce its first concert of the 2013-2014 season entitled-- The 18th Century.
The following literature will be performed:
Overture to the Opera, The Game of Love and Chance, an Opera Buffa in 3 acts after the play Le JeudíAmour et du Hazard (1730).
The composer is J. Lee Graham, an artist in residence with the Delano Chamber Orchestra, violist, and well known creator of many well known and popular modern works in earlier forms and styles of composition. The concert will mark the world premiere
presentation of the work and will be another in a list of compositions by local artists that have had their fist hearing with the Delano Chamber Orchestra.
Concerto for Cello in C Major, Hoboken VIIb:1 by Joseph Haydn (1732-1809). The solo cellist will be Seth Girton, a local and popular artist that has appeared in multiple venues and performs in many varied styles that include jazz and improvisational
Symphony No.1 in C Major Op.21 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). The symphony is in 4 movements and is the first of Beethovenís 9 popular and, at the time, earth shattering and excitingly new symphonies that would change the music world forever.
