The Newman University Theatre Department will present Oscar Wilde’s dark comedy “A Woman of No Importance” as the second play of the 2012-13 season.
The play was written and first performed in London in 1893. Like several of Wilde’s works, it takes a comic and critical look at English upper class society of the era. It has been reproduced on stages across Europe and North America over the past 120 years, and has been adapted for movies and television. Sophomore C.L. Smet is playing the lead in the Newman production.
