The Wichita Piano Trio was formed in 2012. Their program this year includes Piano Trios by Beethoven, Schubert, and Shostakovich. The trio members are all faculty members of Wichita State University. Pianist Julie Bees joined the WSU piano faculty in 1986. She performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician, here and abroad. Cellist Leonid Shukaev joined the WSU string faculty in 2010. He is also a member of the St. Petersburg String Quartet, Quartet-in-Residence at Wichita State University. Violinist Evgeny Zvonnikov, the youngest member of the group, joined the St. Petersburg String Quartet in 2011 and is an adjunct violin professor at WSU.
