"Rhythmically irresistable," "dreamy," "ever-changing," and "magical" are all words used to describe the wide-ranging songs of The Greencards. A love for the sound of American roots music, especially bluegrass, drew vocalist/bassist Carol Young and multiple string-instrument master Kym Warner from Australia to the United States. Young and Warner are joined by Tyler Andal and Carl Miner, and their unique sound is a combination of fiddle, cello, mandolin, bouzouki, and bass. Their talent has guided them to a 2006 Americana Music Award for "Emerging Artist of the Year," Grammy nominations, and tours with Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.
The concert begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Dyck Arboretum. Soup and dessert will be served between sets. To reserve tickets, call 620-327-8127.
