Sarpy ballpark study results called 'encouraging' OMAHA, NE (kios) - The Chairman of Sarpy County's Ad Hoc ballpark committee says the results of a feasibility study are encouraging.

The Sarpy County Board hired Convention Sports and Leisure to study the potential impact and benefits of a Minor League stadium being built there. The Omaha Royals are thought to be considering Sarpy County as a possible relocation option.

Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov is the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee. He says the county could draw on several funding sources to pay for a ballpark. Polikov says it'll likely be several months before the Sarpy County Board decides whether or not to build a stadium.

The feasibility study says a Sarpy County ballpark could cost 37 to 41 million dollars. But it could bring jobs and additional tax revenue to the county.
