The Nebraska Archaeological Society (NAS) quarterly meeting will be held at 1:30 PM at the Grand Island Public Library, in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Saturday, February 1st 2014. The Grand Island Library is located at 211 North Washington St. The meeting is open to the public and everyone interested in archaeology is encouraged to attend. This is a great opportunity to bring in that “unknown prehistoric item” you found last summer or earlier, for possible identification by members of the society. At the conclusion of a brief business meeting, Cynthia Wiley, president of the Nebraska Association of Professional Archaeologists (NAPA), Museum Registrar and an archaeologist with the Midwest Archaeological Center, will be the featured guest speaker. Her presentation will focus on the activities to Celebrate Nebraska Archaeology. Come and hear about current archaeological activities in Nebraska.Learn more on how you could be a part of the Nebraska Artifact Show to be held on August 16th at Seward, Nebraska.
