Abendmusik will showcase First-Plymouth’s Lied Organ in a unique program that will feature all 6 keyboards, 2 consoles, 71 pedals, 110 ranks and 6,327 pipes in a program entitled “Pipedreams Live” on Saturday, March 9th at 7:00 pm at First-Plymouth Church, 20th and D Streets in Lincoln. The program will feature acclaimed organists Wilma Jensen, Anne Wilson, Christopher Marks and Tom Trenney who will collaborate in a variety of ways and combinations to present a four-hand/four foot organ duo version of Wagner’s thrilling “Ride of the Valkyries;” a soothing Chopin concerto featuring First-Plymouth’s new Steinway piano; Widor’s Mass for two choirs and two organs Sung by the Lincoln Choral Artists and men from the Abendmusik Chorus; an unusual organ trio for three organists on one bench and a unique presentation by the organ and accordion. The entire program will be narrated by Michael Barone, the voice of American public Media’s Pipedreams. Single tickets for the concert are available. Adults are $15; Senior Citizens (age 62 and over) are $12; and Students (grade school through full-time college students) are $8. Doors will open at 6:15 and seating is general.
