The Te Ata Fisher Statue Dedication Ceremony takes place at 10 a.m. in the Oval on the campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha.

President John Feaver, U.S. Congressman Tom Cole and Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby attend as renowned actor Tana Takes Horse reprises her role as Te Ata from Judy Lee Oliva's play that debuted at USAO in 2006.

The statue's artist, Jon Hair, offers insights into his vision for the project.

Gene Thompson, Te Ata's great-nephew, and family sanctify the dedication with a ceremonial smudging.
