The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum hosts Saturdays for Kids, Friday, February 1 at 10:30 a.m.
Local dramatist DWe Williams will inform and entertain with this storytelling experience about Cathay Williams. On November 15, 1866, Williams disguised herself and used the name William Cathay to become a member of the 38th Infantry Company A. Cathay served in the army for almost two years and was the first documented female Buffalo Soldier. The Museum hosts one performance only, at 10:30 a.m.
Reservations are requested by Noon, January 31; call (405) 478-2250, Ext. 277, Monday through Friday. Participating families receive free admission to the Museum.
Don't let the large number of automobiles in the museum parking lot scare you off on the day of the Saturdays for Kids event. There is another activity going on in part of the Museum. We have lots of free parking and will operate complimentary shuttles from our overflow lot, if needed.
Saturdays For Kids is a free activity for children 4-12 Children must be accompanied by an adult Some activities require parental assistance.
