OETA-The Oklahoma Network premieres “The Constitution: To Ourselves and to Our Posterity,” a new statewide special exploring the history of the U.S. Constitution and its relevance today, Tuesday September 17 at 9 p.m. The network will also provide a live stream of the program at www.oeta.tv.
Premiering on Constitution Day, the special features a roundtable conversation led by Oklahoma City University President Robert Henry, former Chief Judge of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. Also on the panel: Oklahoma’s 4th District Congressman, U.S. Representative Tom Cole (R); Oklahoma Speaker of the House, T.W. Shannon (R-District 62); and Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Arlene Johnson.
The distinguished lineup of Oklahoma leaders will examine the nation’s governing document, the framers who crafted it and its importance today – as well as how the document has affected Oklahoma, Native American tribes, America and the world.
In addition to live streaming the premiere online, OETA will provide online educational resources for extended learning about the U.S. Constitution at www.oeta.tv. The program will be available for viewing online anytime after September 13 so that Oklahoma educators can utilize the content for Constitution Day activities.
