Narciso ArgŁelles discusses his work, his influences, and his recent selection as the featured artist for the Paseo Arts Association's first ever Paseo Installation Project.
For his installation, "Y Que!" ArgŁelles has transformed the entire Paseo Art Space gallery using images and iconography drawn from Chicano culture and street art. As ArgŁelles describes, his goal has been to, "Bring Street Art into a gallery setting: like capturing lightening in a bottle."
As an active artist and art educator in Oklahoma City, ArgŁelles approaches his art from a specifically Chicano perspective, drawing on personal and cultural histories to build his aesthetic.
This event is free and open to the public.
