A&M-Commerce considers four day week COMMERCE (ketr) - Texas A&M University-Commerce is considering a four-day week for its students.

According to Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Mary Hendrix, a survey has been launched asking students for their input regarding a variety of weekly scheduling options. The survey also solicits their thoughts and interest in a weekend college and transportation services.

The news comes as several area businesses are looking at ways to deal with the rising cost of gasoline and its subsequent effects on the economy.

On Monday, the Hunt County Commissioners Court recommended implementation of a four day, forty hour work week.

After all surveys are conducted, the information will be presented to A&M-Commerce deans and vice presidents, with a final decision expected by Friday, September 19.
