Bonds sold to go toward GEUS Power Plant
(2008-08-29)
(ketr) - Bonds have been sold to pay for a new Greenville Power Plant. The GEUS board of trustees Thursday approved the sale of at least about half of the bonds needed to pay for a new power plant inside the city limits. A second bond issue is possible either later this year or early next year. The board members present did vote unanimously to sell $16.6 million in bonds toward the estimated $35 million project. GEUS officials earlier this month announced plans to build the 25 megawatts (MW) plant adjacent to the current Steam Plant in north Greenville.
