2011 Walk to End Alzheimer's approaching
PARIS (ketr) - Lions Club newly elected Vice President Melissa Millard of Cooper Home Health presented a poignant program on Alzheimer's and the 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer's to be held in Paris.
Alzheimer's is not only memory loss but it kills. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and the fifth leading cause of death for those ages 65 and older. Alzheimer's is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America without a way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression.
The Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held Saturday, Oct. 1. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the 2-mile walk at 9 a.m. at the Trail de Paris next to the Love Civic Center. For more information on Alzheimer's visit www.alz.org.
