The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, are scheduled to make several appearances in the area the week of June 9, 2014, including participating in the 55th Annual Hopkins County Dairy Festival Parade. The eight-horse hitch will be harnessed to the famous Budweiser wagon for the Dairy Festival Parade on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The horses will be scheduled for numerous events in the city during the week leading up to the parade. Hopkins County Dairy Festival Board President, David Watson, is proud to announce that this yearís parade will be featuring the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The beautiful 8 horse hitch of Clydesdale geldings will be a wonderful addition to this yearís parade. This being the 55th year of celebrating the contributions of the dairy farmers and the dairy industry in Hopkins County Texas makes the appearance of the Budweiser hitch a fitting addition, as all milk used to be picked up and delivered by horse-drawn wagons. The parade will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday June 14, 2014. The parade route begins at Coleman Park, proceeds down Connally Street to the Sulphur Springs square, and then goes south on Broadway Street to the intersection of Lee Street. In addition to this yearís June 14th parade there will be numerous activities that help celebrate the dairy industry: the Texas Champion Ice Cream Freeze-Off contest, the cow milking contest by the Dairy Festival Queen contestants and their parents, the Northeast Texas Dairy Cattle show, the dairy food contest and the carnival. The Hot Air Balloon Rally will be flying and/or glowing on Friday and Saturday mornings and evenings(weather permitting and will be located at 1113 E. Shannon at the Shannon Oaks Church). The Dairy Festivalís Queens Coronation Pageant will be on Saturday, June 21st.
