(KERA) - Following are profiles of the five delegates who will be calling us from the Democratic Convention in Denver:

Steve Lerma:


Steve is a home builder and general contractor from Tarrant County. He was elected as a national Clinton delegate at the Texas state convention and is representing Senate District 12 in North Texas. He has served as a Democratic precinct chair, an election judge and was a candidate for Tarrant County Commissioner.

Mary Elizabeth Cedillo-Pereira:


Liz is a Dallas immigration attorney and mother of three. She founded SI PUEDES, a mentoring program for first-generation college bound students, and helped organize the Texas DREAM Act Coalition. She's an Obama delegate attending her first national political convention.

Kathleen Thompson:


Kathleen is president of the Colleyville, Grapevine, Southlake Democrats and vice-president of the Mid-cities Democrats, Tarrant County's largest grassroots political action committee.

She's a mother, long-time resident of Grapevine and a first time convention delegate supporting Obama.

LeVar L. D. Thomas:


LeVar is a commercial real estate consultant at a large Dallas company. He's served on city boards and commissions and worked with numerous non-profit efforts. LeVar's interest in political activism comes naturally- he's the grandson of former Dallas Council Member Al Lipscomb. He is a first-time national delegate for Obama.

Barbara Rosenberg:


Barbara is a Dallas attorney and former associate appellate court judge. She's attending her fourth national political convention as a Clinton delegate. During the primary season she organized supporters and a get-out-the-vote effort for Hillary Clinton. At the convention she wants to cast her pledged vote for Clinton then plans to campaign for Obama/Biden and the entire Democratic ticket.
