Dallas school officials expect to choose the first firms to build and renovate schools within the next 90 days. That thanks to voter approval of the $1.3 billion bond proposal Saturday.
But Superintendent Michael Hinojosa says the relatively close vote also delivered a message that citizens want financial management problems cleared up.
Hinojosa: I've been meeting with the auditor of the TEA for some time and he tells me this has been a 20-year issue for Dallas. He tells me there was a report given to the superintendent in the 80's about how critical this was. I think this may take 2 or 3 years to get that transformed but I am committed to do that
