North Texas
More Plan To Travel Thanksgiving
DALLAS, TX
(KERA) -
More than three million Texans will be traveling next week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Dan Ronan, with Triple A Texas, says it's a lot more than last year.
Ronan: Last year, travel was down 40% from the previous year. So this year, we're starting to trend back up a little bit - starting to show a little strength and a little resiliency.
Ronan says Thanksgiving road trips will be up seven-and-a-half percent this year, thanks to the improving economy.
However, gasoline is 25 to 30 cents higher than last Thanksgiving. The latest weekly survey puts it at an average $2.48 a gallon, but two to four cents cheaper in Dallas and Fort Worth.
