Parrott To Face DISD Incumbent In Runoff
DALLAS
(KERA) -
Incumbent Edwin Flores won his District One re-election outright, with a little more than 51 percent of the vote.
But in District 3, challenger Bruce Parrott has forced incumbent Leigh Ann Ellis into a runoff. Parrott received 37 percent of the vote and says voters are ready for a change.
Parrott: ww need the accountability on watching the budget, as far as fiscal accountability. A strong ethics program. My district, the people aren't real happy about the way things have been going.
Ellis says she'll run on the record
Ellis: Our academic gains are just too strong, that we will not go back. That's what Bruce Parrott represents - going backward. And we're going to go forward.
In the 9th district, Bernadette Nutall will face Sally Cain in the runoff.
The runoff election will be Tuesday, December 8th.
