Gasoline Prices Take Another Dip
(2009-07-09)
(KERA) -

Gasoline prices across Texas continue their July decline. KERA's BJ Austin says the price at the pump fell a penny a day last week, according to Triple-A Texas.

Triple A's Dan Ronan says the seven cent drop puts gasoline prices WELL below what they were this week last year. They were nipping at four dollars a gallon.

Ronan: State average is $2.42, and we remain significantly lower, below the national average as well: 17 cents to be exact. Dallas is at $2.41, and Fort Worth - $2.38 cents. That's the lowest point in the state, Fort Worth.

El Paso has the most expensive gasoline an average $2.54 a gallon. Ronan credits the fall in pump prices to declines in the price of oil and lower "wholesale" gasoline prices.
