Missouri, Kansas Dems Rally for Obama
(2008-08-28)
(kcur) - Kansas and Missouri Democrats are squeezing in next to some 75-thousand other spectators at Invesco Field in Denver to see their freshly minted presidential nominee, Barack Obama. KCUR's Frank Morris is there too, and reports that many here are already looking past the speech to the general election.

A lot of people in the Kansas and Missouri delegations believe they're taking part in history tonight. But they're also looking ahead to the day after. Even these folks aren't too hopeful about Obama's chances in Kansas, but Missouri's in play and Fifth District Congressman Emanuel Cleaver gave a rousing speech to rally Missouri delegates to work for Obama and Attorney General Jay Nixon's campaign for governor.

The Convention seems to have been pretty effective in unifying, at least the Missouri and Kansas delegations, but keeping that enthusiasm going through out the next nine weeks is Democrats next challenge.
