(St. Louis Public Radio) - Madeleine Albright was appointed U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations in 1994. Three years later she became the first woman to serve as Secretary of State.

These days, she's campaigning for Senator Hillary Clinton in conjunction with a tour to promote her new book, Memo to the President Elect.

Albright was in town recently for Maryville University's St. Louis Speaker Series.

She spoke with KWMU's Adam Allington about why she feels Senator Clinton should be the next president of the United States.

An extended interview with Madeline Albright is available here.
