Pickens' Water Pipeline Plan Suspended Indefinitely
Pickens sought to establish a pipeline to ship water from the sole aquifer in the Panhandle to thirsty cities downstate.
Pickens is continuing to pursue rights of way for electric transmission lines to carry power generated by a planned wind farm.
Pickens spokesman Jay Rosser says discussions with potential buyers of the water from the Ogallala Aquifer will continue.
Rosser says Pickens wants to focus on the wind and power project.
Rosser says the indefinite suspension of the Mesa Water pipeline has nothing to do with a Justice Department ruling in August.
