Republicans Outnumbered, But Not in Cash
Across the country, Democrats are outpacing Republicans in raising money for federal candidates and their national standard bearer, Barack Obama.
But as of September 8th, in Oklahoma, 63 percent of the cash raised for federal candidates during 2007 and 2008 went to Republicans.
A compilation by the Center for Responsive Government, a Washington, D.C-based research group, reveals that only 37 percent was collected by Democrats.
In all, Oklahomans gave 12.2 million dollars to GOP federal candidates, including McCain and his competitors in the presidential primary. That compares to 7.7 million dollars for Obama and other Democratic presidential and House and Senate hopefuls.
