Opponent Withdraws from Cotton Co. Sheriff Race
The incumbent Democrat was slated to face Republican challenger, F.L. Eveland, in November's general election, but Eveland withdrew.
In a letter received August 25th by the Cotton County Election Board, Eveland wrote that he's dropping out of the race because his wife is ill and he has the responsibility of caring for a sick father.
Jeffery says he's ready for four more years and is preparing to deal with drug enforcement issues and possibly adding on to jail facilities in the future.
