Showers, Thunderstorms in Oklahoma Forecast
(2008-09-08)
(kccu-fm) - A cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to Oklahoma today.

The National Weather Service says a strong cold frontal passage will occur across the state this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be dramatically cooler in some areas as strong northerly winds pass over the state.

Forecasters say the front will likely send most areas from late-summer heat straight into blustery jacket weather within a couple of hours. Temperatures are forecast to drop sharply from the 80s into the 60s in 2 to 3 hours.

Another front is likely to move into the area Thursday and Friday, bringing more chances of rain. Forecasters say the region's weather late in the week could be dominated by Hurricane Ike, which may reach the upper Texas coastline by next weekend.
