Texas Loses Many Rigs Following Gustav
Houston-based Baker Hughes says the number of active rigs in the United States is down by 18 but the number in Oklahoma is up by four.
Of the other major oil- and gas-producing states Colorado added three and Alaska, North Dakota and Wyoming added one each.
Texas is down 20 rigs, New Mexico lost five and California one. The numbers in Arkansas and Louisiana were unchanged.

The number of rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas fell nationwide last week while the number rose in Oklahoma. Houston-based Baker Hughes says the number of active rigs in the United States is down by 18 but the number in Oklahoma is up by four.
Of the other major oil- and gas-producing states Colorado added three and Alaska, North Dakota and Wyoming added one each.
