Colorado Watershed Protection Fund
(2008-02-22)
(kbut) - The Colorado Watershed Protection Fund is financed by the Colorado tax refund checkoff program which provides tax payers the opportunity to contribute a portion of their tax return to assist locally-based conservation groups in their efforts to protect our water resources. Since 2004, Colorado citizens have directly contributed over $454,000 to the Colorado Watershed Protection Fund.
Checkoff for Colorado's Water
When you check the box for the Colorado Watershed Protection Fund on your state income tax return, you're making an important contribution to protecting one of our most fragile and important resources: our water.

Each year citizen organizations from across Colorado rely on the Watershed Protection Fund to support planning and implementation projects. These monies have helped fund 36 projects across the state including stream restorations, water quality monitoring, long-range watershed assessments, stream flow surveys, wildfire rehabilitation, and abandoned mine reclamation.
