Fulton Closing Alternative High School Program
"I trust it's a very difficult decision. It's not my decision to make. I don't envy the board, the superintendent, the community, all those that have to make these tough decisions."
The alternative program currently has 40 students. Those who aren't graduating this year would return to Fulton High School.

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI
(KBIA) -
The Fulton School Board is considering closing its alternative high school program at Fulton Academy. District spokesperson Kathy Wright says the possible action stems from a projected drop of about nine-hundred-thousand dollars in revenue, as well as budget cutbacks of about one-point-two million dollars for the 2010/2011 school year. Wright says the school board is exploring a variety of ways to reduce the total budget, and cutting the alternative program would save the district roughly two-hundred-thousand dollars."I trust it's a very difficult decision. It's not my decision to make. I don't envy the board, the superintendent, the community, all those that have to make these tough decisions."
