Malfunctioning Traffic Light Camera
(2010-02-08)
(KBIA) - One of five red light traffic cameras in Columbia is not functioning. The traffic light is at the intersection of Stadium and Providence heading north. Police department spokesperson Jessie Haden says the camera is being adjusted and will be operational soon. Haden advises people not to worry when seeing flashing lights when the traffic camera takes random pictures.

"They can rest assured that even if the light flashes if their light is green, they are not going to receive a ticket."

Cameras at the intersection of Providence and Broadway, Stadium and Worley, Forum and Stadium and southbound Providence at Stadium are functioning properly. The city plans to install a total of 16 cameras by fall.
