Mid-Missouri Under a Winter Weather Advisory
(2010-02-08)
(KBIA) - Much of the area this morning is under a winter weather advisory. According to the National Weather Service mid-Missouri is expected to get between four and six inches of snow. The storm system began moving across the area last night - and this morning there are a number of school closings to report including Columbia schools, and Jefferson City Public Schools.

The snow is expected to taper off this morning but will pick up again this evening. The National Weather Service says the heaviest snow will fall late tonight and early into Tuesday morning. Winds are also expected to create significant blowing and drifting snow.
