Humane Society Director Resigns
(2009-11-20)
(KBIA) - Forister announced her resignation at last night's board meeting - effective immediately. She'd served as executive director of the humane society since 2005. The board named Doctor Alan Allert as interim while it searches for a permanent replacement. Board Vice-President Jim Loveless says Forester voluntarily resigned citing personal and professional reasons.

"We hope that she is successful she says that she is excited about moving on to a different stage in her home life. She loved this work and loved the shelter and hopes it continue to be successful."

The shelter has recently faced criticism under Forister's leadership about management concerns and financial concerns. Loveless says that can be expected anytime you have an organization that depends so heavily on the community for support. The search for a permanent director is expected to begin soon. Loveless says he anticipates it'll be at least three months before a new person to fill Forister's takes over. © Copyright 2012, KBIA
