Blackwater residents may soon enjoy a new downtown. The city received a Community Development Block Grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The grant totals more than 120,000 dollars. This is the second time the city has received a CDB Grant. Mayor Bobby Danner says the development is great to work with. They really make it possible for small towns, such as Blackwater, to accomplish things that would just be not possible otherwise. CDBG has been very helpful in infrastructure projects and very beneficial for communities all through Missouri.
The money will be used for sidewalk repairs, street lighting, small infrastructure repairs downtown, as well as construction of a new parking lot.
