Mid-MO SWAT Teams Gather to Train
(2008-09-18)
(KBIA) - SWAT units from police agencies across mid Missouri attended The Central Missouri Tactical Officer's Association training yesterday. KBIA's Laura Parkinson has the story:

The agencies gathered at the Kemper Military Academy in Boonville today to implement what they learned yesterday. This is the second annual Tactical Officers Association group training. Training consisted of both handling weapons as well as dealing with high-stress situations. Major Tom Reddin of the Boone County Sheriff's Department says that some of these situations include tactical responses to an active shooter, riots, homeland security issues, or hostage situations.

If an agency wants to be apart of the CMOTA, and wishes to attend, It's a great opportunity for these agencies to obtain training, and share technology, training, and resources.

Reddin says each agency is responsible for its own SWAT training. He says the Boone County SWAT team consists of 12 members that train every month in addition to the yearly group training from the Association. He says that the group training helps officers better serve the central Missouri area.
