Three New City Parks for Columbia
So we put together a couple of different concept plans, showing different amenities and different locations and what that's intended to do is to get them thinking about what their park could be.
The city is set to begin work on the first park by the end of the year and all three parks will be ongoing projects through the summer of 2009.

Columbia residents will soon have some new places to play thanks to three new city parks. The parks, which will be built in the Cascades, the Grasslands and on Smiley Lane, are already fully funded and the city is in the designing process. The Parks and Recreation department has given out comment sheets to neighborhood residents in those surrounding areas in an attempt to get their opinion on what park amenities they would like. Columbia park planner Mike Snyder says this enables residents to feel more involved.So we put together a couple of different concept plans, showing different amenities and different locations and what that's intended to do is to get them thinking about what their park could be.
