Private Forensic Facility to Open in Kirksville
(2008-09-09)
(KBIA) - Crime scene investigation is coming to northeast Missouri. Human Identification Technologies, Inc., or H-I-T, opens a new 23,000 square foot laboratory facility in Kirksville this month. H-I-T is a private forensic testing laboratory, based in Redlands, California. The new facility is expected to bring 100 new high-paying jobs to Kirksville. H-I-T chose Kirksville after a rigorous nationwide search for site for an expansion facility. Phil Tate is the Director of Job Creation for the Kirksville Regional Economic Development Incorporated, or KREDI He says H-I-T decided upon Kirksville because of the high quality of life the town would offer employees as well as the unique opportunity to work with Truman State University students.

This collaboration with Truman State University is one of the main reasons that HIT chose Kirksville for this expansion.

Human Identification Technologies also has donated an entire DNA testing laboratory to the Kirksville Police force. © Copyright 2009, KBIA
