Businesses Begin Installing Solar Panels
(2008-09-09)
(KBIA) - Connie Kacprowicz (cap-row-witz) is the spokesperson for Columbia Water and Light. She says participating companies will sell the energy collected by their panels to Columbia Water and Light under a 10 year agreement. Kacprowicz says businesses can be a good source of solar energy because they have large rooftops with solar exposure and can afford to install the panels which cost between 20 and 30 thousand dollars. Kacprowicz says investing in alternative energy is expensive initially but eventually the cost will decrease.

As more people invest in it, the technology will increase and then also, the price of solar energy will go down.

Kacprowicz says she expects more than 100 businesses to enroll in this project over time. © Copyright 2009, KBIA
