MU Journalism School Prepares for Centennial
(2008-09-09)
COLUMBIA, MO
(KBIA) -
MU's School of Journalism is preparing for its Centennial celebration this week.
Suzette Heiman is in charge of directing the event.
She says nearly two thousand students, alumni, and special guests are expected to attend the celebrations. Heiman says the event will commemorate the Missouri School of Journalism's past achievements.
It's a time to celebrate. We're the world's first school of journalism, arguably the best. And it's an opportunity to think about all the accomplishments we've had over the past year. And to celebrate the heritage and the traditions that have been born here.
Heiman says the event staff has been putting the finishing touches on the new Reynolds Journalism Institute building and landscaping the campus in preparation. The Centennial events begin Wednesday.
