Sanders Death Ruled a Homicide COLUMBIA, MO (KBIA) - The Medical Examiners Office has ruled the death of Helen Sanders a homicide, according to a statement released by the Columbia Police Department.
Sanders was found dead in the trunk of a car, driven by her 19-year-old son Daniel Sanders, during a traffic stop on August 14. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence and is still incarcerated at the Boone County Jail.
Her 16-year-old son, Gary Sanders, is now considered a person of interest in the case. Investigative Commander Captain Brad Nelson says the Police Department still hasn't released the cause of death.
Nelson says anyone with information should contact the department.
