Truman State Enrollment Down...For the Most Part
(2009-08-27)
(KBIA) - Students at Truman State University went back to school today, and school officials say Truman's total enrollment numbers are down by about 1 percent this year. Truman's Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Regina Moran says that's because the school graduated about 100 more students than usual last May. She says the number of domestic students slightly increased, while international student enrollment slightly decreased. Moran says graduate student enrollment went up by 30 students, or about 10 percent.

"You know, you're not talking about a large pool, but that's a pretty significant jump within that size of a pool."

Moran says she doesn't know if the jump in graduate students is related to the economy. But, she says about 25 percent more students applied for federal financial aid who have never applied before this year.
